An order's total is not what you earned from it. Bottom Line reads your own shop data through Etsy's official API — once you grant access through Etsy's consent screen — and works out, for each order and each listing, what was left after Etsy's cut: the listing fee, the transaction fee, payment processing, offsite ads and currency conversion. It then compares that against your cost of goods, so the number you see is the one that matters — what the sale actually earned you.

Several of these interact — the transaction fee applies to shipping, offsite ads apply on top of everything else — which is why per-order profit is so hard to keep straight in your head, and why Bottom Line does the arithmetic for you.
You grant access through Etsy's own OAuth consent screen; Bottom Line never sees your Etsy password. It reads only your own shop's data — your shop details, your listings, your receipts. Because Etsy's API has rate limits, that data is held on our server rather than fetched live on every view. You can disconnect at any time and have the stored data deleted. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is held and for how long.
Payments are handled by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. We never see your card details.
